I acquired one of these laser guides to upgrade the function of my compound miter saw about a year ago. Installation of the unit took about five minutes. I've since used it for cutting a lot of crown molding as well as trimming boards for an oak hardwood floor installation and for a bamboo floor installation.
The laser guide has performed perfectly. It is necessary to stay cognizant that the laser line indicates the side of the saw blade, rather than the actual cutting line.
